Our family, 2011

Here are some pictures we took last month, when our whole family was together for Thanksgiving. Also, here is an update on the Dorr clan, as we appear in the first picture below, left to right. Merry Christmas!

David and Nikki, and their daughter Adelaide: Still live in Basalt, Colorado, where Dave is vice president of John Olson Builder in Aspen. He enjoys biking and skiing. Nikki is happily at home with their sweet Adelaide, who is 20 months old. We are so thankful for modern technology such as Skype, so we can “see” them often.

Ben and Christine: A year ago, they relocated to Corvallis, and they live only about two miles from us. Yay! Ben is working in construction and his dear wife Christine is working at a local restaurant and looking forward to returning to college next year. They both enjoy gourmet cooking. Cody and Allie, their dogs, bring them much joy.

Hannah: Lives in the big city (Portland), and works in the admissions department of the graduate studies division of George Fox University. Spends her spare time hanging out/camping/traveling with her many wonderful friends, and with family as often as we are able to get her!

Jake and Beka, and their son Ayeresam: Live in Corvallis, where Jake works with autistic children both at a local elementary school and at a private clinic. Jake continues pursuing his art in his free time.  Beka works part time for their church and is having fun with their little guy, who is 2.5 years old and beyond precious.

Chris, Sarah, and Moses: What an amazing year for their family! Many prayers were answered as they adopted their newborn son Moses this fall, and he is a special delight to us all. Sarah is happily staying home with him, and Chris continues to teach first grade. Their dog Goliath is adjusting to life with a baby in the house!

Mark and Jo: It’s hard to believe how our family has grown. We are so very blessed. Mark is still teaching at Philomath Middle School. Eighth-grade social studies mostly, with some art and wood shop classes sprinkled in the mix as well. Jo is still substitute teaching in our district, working most days at our high school. We were able to take a road trip this summer over seven western states, celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary and enjoying visits with dear family along the way.

We wish you a lovely holiday season. May God bless and keep you, one and all!
